Fire and Heartbeats

It goes like that for a while. Days and nights marinated in music and magic. We’d write a song, then a spell. Local buzz turned on. Words from mouth to ears and our name was traveling. Killing Lily started opening for big names.

When the crowd filled the venues for us, I was having troubles seeing them. I’d keep looking back, checking to see if Tabitha was there. I could hear the violin. I could smell her good-natured essence…
